Senior Remuneration Administrator Job Duties

  • Process and manage payroll for employees in South Africa and other African countries (Zambia & Namibia), ensuring adherence to local tax laws and employment regulations.
  • Coordinate with in-country HR and finance teams to gather necessary payroll inputs and approvals.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical aid, retirement funds, and other region-specific benefits.
  • Ensure accurate enrolment, changes, and terminations of benefits in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including PAYE, UIF, SDL in South Africa, and equivalent regulations in other African jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports to relevant authorities, such as SARS and other local tax bodies.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems (Sage 300, VIP Premier) with accurate employee data.
  • Generate and distribute payslips and payroll reports to stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve payroll and benefits-related queries from employees across different countries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide guidance on payroll and benefits policies and procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance payroll and benefits processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll and benefits legislation across the African region and adjust processes accordingly.

Qualifications

  • National Diploma or Degree in Payroll Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field

Experience and Knowledge of

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll and benefits administration, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing payroll and benefits across multiple African countries.
  • In-depth understanding of South African labour laws and tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits regulations in other African countries.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems such as Sage 300, VIP Premier, VISTA Clocking System, ERS Biometrics or similar platforms.
