Senior Remuneration Administrator Job Duties
- Process and manage payroll for employees in South Africa and other African countries (Zambia & Namibia), ensuring adherence to local tax laws and employment regulations.
- Coordinate with in-country HR and finance teams to gather necessary payroll inputs and approvals.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including medical aid, retirement funds, and other region-specific benefits.
- Ensure accurate enrolment, changes, and terminations of benefits in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including PAYE, UIF, SDL in South Africa, and equivalent regulations in other African jurisdictions.
- Prepare and submit statutory reports to relevant authorities, such as SARS and other local tax bodies.
- Maintain and update payroll systems (Sage 300, VIP Premier) with accurate employee data.
- Generate and distribute payslips and payroll reports to stakeholders.
- Address and resolve payroll and benefits-related queries from employees across different countries in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide guidance on payroll and benefits policies and procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to enhance payroll and benefits processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll and benefits legislation across the African region and adjust processes accordingly.
Qualifications
- National Diploma or Degree in Payroll Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field

Experience and Knowledge of
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll and benefits administration, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing payroll and benefits across multiple African countries.
- In-depth understanding of South African labour laws and tax regulations.
- Familiarity with payroll and benefits regulations in other African countries.
- Proficiency in payroll software systems such as Sage 300, VIP Premier, VISTA Clocking System, ERS Biometrics or similar platforms.
