Qualifications

The following are the minimum entry requirements for the programme:

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science and English (all with minimum 40% pass), AND
  • N2 or higher with all four (4) subjects passed including Mathematics and Engineering Science as per the specific Discipline requirements below;
  • Boilermaker: Plating/ Welders Theory and Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings.
  • Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings.
  • Diesel Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
  • Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings.
  • Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics
  • Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics.
  • Millwright: Electrical and Fitting Trade Theories, Engineering Drawings or Industrial Electronics
  • Rigger: Rigger Trade Theory and Engineering Theory
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
  • NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.
