Requirements
- Youth at age 18 – 34 years (18 or above when applying, or 34 turning 35 on or before 31 March 2026)
- Youth residing 5km around the location of the school and 30 km for farm schools
- Only one opportunity per household
- Meet requirements per category and sub-category applied for
- Youth, not in Education, Not in Employment, Not in Training (NEET), except young people studying teaching in distance or online learning
- Youth Not receiving government grants for self (e.g., SASSA grants such as SRD 350). If you receive a grant it must be cancelled immediately when you receive confirmation of appointment
- Youth Not receiving any other form of STIPEND, WAGE or SALARY
- Youth Not in a learnerships
- Youth without criminal records
- Youth that was not unfairly advantaged above others due to their relations to staff members (SMT or SGB)
- Youth living with disability must provide a medical certificate confirming the nature of their disability
- Only South African citizens with a valid South African identity book or card are eligible to apply

Roles
- Curriculum Assistants – supporting teaching and learning in the classroom
The applicant should have passed Matric /Grade 12 with at least 40% achievement in the subject that the EA will be supporting the teacher.
Having a teaching qualification should serve as an added advantage. - Reading Champions
The applicant should have passed LoLT (Language of Learning and Teaching) as a subject at Matric /Grade 12 level and have an expressed or demonstrated a passion for reading. - e-Cadres / ICT Assistants
The applicant should have passed IT as a subject in Matric /Grade 12 /IT NQF level 4 qualification OR have a qualification in IT OR a certificate course in IT. - Care Support Assistants (CSAs)
The applicant should have passed Matric /Grade 12 and should have the love for care and support for people (learners).
Having a Child and Care worker certificate should serve as an added advantage. - Laboratory Assistant
The applicant should have passed Matric /Grade 12 with Physical Sciences.
Support science education by preparing lab materials and assisting with experiments. - Workshop Assistant
The applicant should have passed Matric /Grade 12 with Engineering Subjects (preferably from a Technical High School).
Support technical education by assisting in practical workshops and maintaining equipment.
