Minimum Requirements
- Applicants must not be employed.
- Applicants must not be enrolled with any institution for a qualification nor be registered in any Learnership Programme.
- Applicants must not be in possession of a completed post-matric qualification
(NB: Failure to disclose post-matric qualifications will result in applicant being disqualified) - Applicants in possession of a post-matric qualification must not apply and will not be considered.
- Applicants must have a Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum of Level 3 in ALL the subjects)
- Applicants must submit / attach SAQA / NLRD verification report
(Obtainable from SAQA website » SAQA Verifications Service » Extract from the NLRD) - Applicants must be a South African citizen and be in possession of a valid SA ID.
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age (in line with the NSDSIII).

Primary Duties
- Assisting in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater reticulation systems.
- Supporting the installation, repair, and maintenance of water pipelines and sewer networks.
- Assisting with the detection and reporting of leaks, blockages, and pipe bursts.
- Participating in meter reading and basic meter maintenance.
- Monitoring water pressure and flow within the distribution system.
- Assisting with excavation, pipe laying, and reinstatement of affected areas.
- Supporting routine inspection of valves, hydrants, and manholes.
- Adhering to occupational health and safety procedures at all times.
- Attending classes as part of the learnership programme.
- Participating in discussions and practical activities during classes.
- Completing assignments and projects as required.
- Writing assessments and maintaining a practical logbook to evaluate knowledge and understanding.
