Capitec Bank is on the lookout for energetic, self-motivated individuals who share passion for service in the banking industry.

Purpose Statement

• To create optimal, sustainable, resilient, scalable, cost effective and high performing IT Infrastructure services that meet the company’s vision and objectives
   

Experience

Minimum:

• 5+ years’ experience in business-critical database administration
• 3+ years’ experience in
  • Level 2 – 3 database administration role
  • Understanding of AWS technology 
  • Firm understanding of database migrations from and to SQL server is required 
  • Background in financial industry from an IT perspective 
  • Advanced troubleshooting
  • Change management processes
  • Developing and maintaining database environments
  • Implementation of industry best practices and standards
  • Agile Way of working (e.g. running a Kanban\SCRUM\Lean methodology)

Ideal:

• 2+ years’ experience in leading a team of technical experts.
• Experience in scripting techniques.

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology – Computer Science or Information Technology

Knowledge

Minimum:
A thorough and in-depth understanding of:

• Data Platform Cloud services for AWS
• SQL Server design and administration
• SQL Server management systems performance and capacity analysis
• SQL Server Internals
• T-SQL Programming and optimization
