
Ampath is looking for unemployed youth to apply for their Phlebotomy Technician Learnerships, for the year 2026.

Programme Details
- Duration: 24-month full-time training starting late January 2027
- Format: Combination of online classes and in-person training Monday to Friday. This is a full-time course and no alternative employment can be allowed
- Practical Experience: Hands-on workplace exposure at Ampath Care Centers
- Locations: Training sites in Centurion (Gauteng) and Westridge (Durban, KZN)
- Cost: Funded by HWSETA and Ampath Laboratories.
All candidates will be subjected to a structured assessment process and a panel interview before acceptance to the programme.

Eligibility Requirements
- Age requirement: Under 35 years, as this is a youth empowerment and skills development initiative of the HWSETA.
- Academic qualifications:
- Minimum of 60% in Matric Pure Mathematics, Life Sciences/Biology, and English
- No qualifications above NQF Level 4 to be eligible for HWSETA funding
- Technical requirements: Smart phone/device with stable internet connection for online learning

- Limited positions available
- Acceptance of the programme is dependent on Ampath securing HWSETA funding
- Successful completion leads to HPCSA registration as a Phlebotomy Technician
